Cool TV Video of the Day: Alex Trebek Gives Some Naughty Clues
Alex Trebek is best known as the host of Jeopardy. However, he hosted quite a few other game shows before landing that gig. In these two clips from the final episodes of Double Dare (No, not Nickelodeon’s Double Dare. That’s something quite different. This one aired on CBS.), Trebek gives a few suggestive clues. While the show only lasted 5 months, the boomerang clues always pop up on outrageous game show moment compilations.

Jimmy Kimmel Will Air at 11:35pm
Starting in January, ABC will push Nightline back an hour, so that Jimmy Kimmel Live can be a direct competitor to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman. This does not make sense. ABC already wins the 11:35pm late night ratings race against Leno and Letterman with Nightline, which averages 3.8 million viewers. However, ABC loses the ratings race a half hour later because Kimmel averages 1.8 million viewers to Leno’s 3.71 million viewers and Letterman’s 3.22 million viewers. Kimmel also receives the fewest number of viewers among the 3 hosts in the coveted 19-49 demographic.
Comedian Phyllis Diller Dead at 95
Phyllis Diller died today at 95 years old. We can go on and on about Phyllis Diller being groundbreaking and fantastic. However, The Los Angeles Times sums up the woman perfectly in its article on her death.

Tribune Stations Go Dark on Cablevision
Last night at midnight, four Tribune Broadcasting stations, two My Network affiliates and two CW affiliates, went dark for Cablevision customers because of a disagreement on retransmission consent fees. The affected stations are WPIX in New York, WPHL in Philadelphia, KWGN in Denver, and WCCT in Connecticut.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cablevision says, “The bankrupt Tribune Co. and the hedge funds and banks that own it, including Oaktree Capital Management, Angelo Gordon & Co. and others, are trying to solve Tribune’s financial problems on the backs of Cablevision customers. Tribune and their hedge fund owners are demanding tens of millions in new fees for WPIX and other stations they own. They should stop their anti-consumer demands and work productively to reach an agreement.”

Romeo Dance Cheetah
After a two week break for the Olympics, America’s Got Talent returned last night with the worst show of a terrible season. It was so bad, changing the channel was actually recommended.
The YouTube show has always been hit or miss. Some acts have thrived in past seasons, such as Jackie Evancho. However, most acts crack under pressure and bomb because they have never performed in front of a live audience before. Ten of the 12 acts that performed fell into the latter group. Only two acts from last night’s AGT deserve to go through to the next round.
Clint Carvalho and His Extreme Parrots
Clint Carvalho introduced America to Kitten, who he called “the Evel Knievel of parrots.” Kitten did a freefall from the 180-foot Robert Treat Tower, flew through the lobby of the theater, over the heads of the audience, and into Carvalho’s hand. It was amazing to see such a well trained bird. However, this cannot be made into a show because it would get old fast. Carvalho says he has more birds and stunts that are just as good, so we shall she what happens.
If You’re Male, You Could Be the Next Model on The Price Is Right
The Price Is Right is looking for its first ever male model. On August 30, the process of finding a male model will start with an open casting call. The casting call will take place at KCBS Studios, 4024 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA 91604 from 10am to 2pm. At the casting call, The Price is Right‘s producers and current female models interview and judge hopefuls on “verbal skills, posing and ability to properly showcase a product.”
The model search competition will be posted on The Price is Right‘s YouTube channel and priceisright.com in five installments starting on September 28, which is also the day the finalists will be announced on the show. During the competition, potential models will demonstrate their modeling skills and on-camera presences in multiple challenges. At the end of each challenge, a contest will be eliminated. However, some of the eliminated contestants will be able to get back into the game.
Viewers will chose the winner, who will receive a one-week modeling gig on the show. Voting will take place online from September 28 to October 4. The winning male model will make his debut on October 15.

In 2006, Conan O’Brien hosted the Emmy’s on NBC. His hilarious opening parodied several popular shows of the time. The shows featured in order are: Lost, The Office, 24, House, Lost, South Park, and even To Catch a Predator.
